Mix n Chic Style Challenge-Decorate bringing the outdoors in

TGIF . Yesterday flew by.  Have you ever been stuck on decorating ideas and not knowing where to start? I'd like to share some tips with you that I use .  Pick one or two items and let your imagination go wild .  There are no rules when it comes to decorating .  I'll show you how I chose to bring the outdoors in for this design Mix n Chic Style Challenge .   I headed over to Chairish, an online marketplace for vintage and used furniture.  They have a great selection of  Shabby Chic pieces to add to your home.  When the paint is peeling and the metal is rusty, the easier it is to mix it in with any decorating style.

I chose my favorite outdoor vintage Shabby Chic pieces and incorporated them inside the master bedroom.
I created a small area for the desk and a sitting area for reading my favorite magazines and books.
If you have a very large Master bedroom like myself  then  this will work for you also. You could even break it up into other areas of your home.

French Iron Garden Arm Chair

Primitive Garden Gate

I used this Chair and Gate as my main pieces for the design.
Take a look at how I mixed and matched these inside the bedroom.

I mixed in the Silver Leaf Desk, Rustic Shipping Basket, Pom Pom throw pillow,  painted wood round mirror and Parisian -style floorlamp.
As you can see , there are no rules!

I used these shutters in the reading nook area of the bedroom. Mix and match colors and textures.

Here I added a vintage Bergere Chair in Lulu DK's Chant fabric, primitive boot bench, milk glass lamp, white washed plant stand, Pom Pom pillow, vintage JL Clark embroidery wastebasket, and ultra mod pink & silver centerpiece basket.

For the empty corner of the bedroom I started with this Antique Barn Door.

Distressed sign

French Wood Boules Game

I hung the distressed sign on the barn door, 1880s white washed plant stand, Soule Studio melange pitcher large woven basket, Boules game,  iron column table base and a Hierarchy accent pillow.

For the opposite corner of the room is the dresser.
I used the Garden Gate again to show you how pieces work just as well in different areas of your home.

For the master bedroom I started with these
Vintage painted French Doors - 12 pane glass

Mix metals, woods, add different colors and textures.
Mix and match modern with shabby chic.
Make it your own style

Remember .. there are no rules when it comes to decorating.
Create your own style board.
Have fun with it.
